Dernauer Pfarrwingert Pinot Noir “Symphonie” Trocken 2021

The Symphonie is Oliver’s flagship Pinot Noir, produced only in exceptional vintages and from one of the finest sites in the Ahr. The Dernauer Pfarrwingert vineyard sits high above the valley, a... position that proved crucial in 2021. Despite the devastating floods that affected much of the region, the elevation of this site allowed the fruit to ripen fully, producing a wine of remarkable concentration and balance. Made with the intention of ageing, Symphonie is matured for 18 months in 100% new oak. The result is a Pinot Noir of depth and structure, showing an intense palate of red and black fruit layered with herbal notes and complex spice. Powerful yet refined, it is a wine built to develop slowly in bottle. The 2021 vintage stands as a remarkable achievement for the Ahr. In challenging conditions, careful vineyard work and selective harvesting produced wines of precision and freshness. From the Pfarrwingert vineyard, the result is a Pinot Noir with both structure and longevity. Already highly awarded, the wine has received strong international recognition.
