Chateau Fourcas Hosten, Listrac-Medoc 2012 150cl

Château Fourcas Hosten 2012 is a classic Cru Bourgeois from the Listrac Médoc, produced from vineyards planted on gravel and clay soils well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate is... known for its consistent, traditional style, producing wines that combine structure with approachable fruit. The 2012 vintage is a more classical Bordeaux year, producing wines with freshness and balance rather than overt power. At Fourcas Hosten this results in a refined and well structured wine that is now beginning to show early maturity. Tasting notes Château Fourcas Hosten 2012 shows aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry and plum, with notes of cedar, tobacco and a touch of spice. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and balanced, with softened tannins supporting fresh fruit. There is a savoury edge developing, leading to a smooth and persistent finish. Large format In magnum, the wine will have matured more slowly, helping to preserve freshness while allowing the structure and aromatics to develop gradually. Drinking window Now to 2030 A well balanced and approachable Listrac Médoc showing classic Bordeaux character, ideal for drinking now and over the coming years.

Chateau Pavie Premier Grand Cru Classe A, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2020

Château Pavie 2020 is one of the standout wines of the Saint Emilion vintage. Produced from vineyards on the limestone plateau and steep south facing slopes above the village, the wine combines... remarkable concentration with the freshness and precision that define the best wines of the year. Château Pavie sits on one of the most historic and dramatic vineyard sites in Saint Emilion. Under the ownership of the Perse family, the estate has been transformed into one of the most powerful and sought after wines on the Right Bank. Its promotion to Premier Grand Cru Classé A status in the 2012 Saint Emilion classification confirmed its position among the leading estates of Bordeaux. The vineyard covers around 37 hectares, planted predominantly with Merlot alongside Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The limestone soils and steep slopes give Château Pavie 2020 its distinctive intensity and structure, producing a Saint Emilion that combines richness with remarkable ageing potential. The 2020 vintage in Saint Emilion produced wines of depth and freshness, and Château Pavie 2020 is among the most impressive of the year. The blend is approximately 50% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Château Pavie 2020 tasting notes Château Pavie 2020 shows a deep colour with powerful aromas of plum, blackberry and dark cherry. Layers of liquorice, spice and crushed stone add further complexity. On the palate the wine is dense and structured yet beautifully balanced. The concentration is impressive but the freshness of the vintage keeps the wine precise and energetic. The tannins are refined and persistent, suggesting a long future in bottle. Critic scores 100 points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent 99–100 points, James Suckling 99 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous 98 points, Neal Martin, Vinous Drinking window 2030 to 2060+ Château Pavie 2020 is a monumental Saint Emilion that will reward long term cellaring and is likely to rank among the great modern vintages produced at the estate.
