Description

Château de Beaucastel is one of the most historic estates of the Southern Rhône and has been owned by the Perrin family for several generations. The château is renowned for producing some of the most age worthy wines of Châteauneuf du Pape, with vineyards planted on the famous galets roulés soils that help retain warmth and encourage full ripening of the grapes.

Hommage à Jacques Perrin is the estate’s flagship cuvée, created in tribute to Jacques Perrin and produced only in the finest vintages. The wine is made predominantly from old vine Mourvèdre with smaller proportions of Grenache, Syrah and Counoise, giving the wine remarkable depth, structure and longevity.

The 2020 vintage in Châteauneuf du Pape produced wines of excellent balance and concentration. At Beaucastel the result is a powerful yet refined wine that reflects both the pedigree of the estate and the character of the vintage.

Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2020 tasting notes

Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2020 shows intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum, layered with notes of spice, leather, garrigue and dark chocolate.

On the palate the wine is rich and structured, with dense fruit supported by firm but refined tannins. The finish is long and complex, highlighting the depth and ageing potential of this exceptional cuvée.

Large format

This 300cl double magnum offers outstanding potential for long term cellaring. The great wines of Châteauneuf du Pape are known for developing remarkable complexity with age, and in large formats the wine matures more slowly, preserving freshness while allowing the layers of fruit, spice and savoury character to unfold gradually.

Drinking window

2030 to 2060+

A rare large format of one of the Rhône Valley’s most iconic wines, highly sought after by collectors and ideal for extended ageing.
