Château Canon is one of the leading estates of Saint Emilion, located on the limestone plateau above the village and classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B. Owned by Chanel, the estate has seen... significant investment in recent years, producing wines of increasing precision and consistency. The vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot supported by Cabernet Franc, grown on limestone and clay soils that bring both freshness and structure. The 2021 vintage is a more classical year, favouring balance and elegance over power, and at Canon this has resulted in a wine that shows purity and refinement. Tasting notes Château Canon 2021 shows aromas of red cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with notes of violet, spice and a touch of graphite. On the palate the wine is refined and well structured, with fresh fruit supported by fine tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long and precise, highlighting the elegance and balance of the vintage. Chateau Maine-Gazin, Blaye-Cotes de Bordeaux 2023

Château Maine Gazin 2023, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux Château Maine Gazin 2023 is a well made claret from the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, offering a reliable and approachable style for those looking... for everyday Bordeaux with character. The estate is located in the village of Plassac on south facing slopes overlooking the Gironde estuary, just across the river from Saint Julien, where similar soils can be found at a far higher price level. The vineyards are planted on a mix of clay and limestone, with the influence of the estuary helping to maintain balance and freshness in the fruit. Château Maine Gazin 2023 is made from a blend that includes Cabernet Franc alongside Merlot, giving the wine both ripe fruit and a touch of structure. The 2023 vintage has produced a fresher, more classical style of Bordeaux, with alcohol levels at around 13.5%. This brings a sense of balance and drinkability, making it particularly appealing for those seeking a well priced claret that can be enjoyed over the short to medium term. Tasting notes Château Maine Gazin 2023 shows aromas of cherry, blackberry and red berry fruit, with a light touch of spice.
