Château Fourcas Dupré 2020, Listrac Médoc – Magnum
Château Fourcas Dupré is a well regarded estate in the Listrac Médoc, with a history dating back to the early nineteenth century. The vineyards are planted on a mix of gravel, sand and limestone soils, well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, producing wines that combine structure with approachability.
The blend is typically led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc, giving the wine both depth and aromatic complexity. The 2020 vintage in Bordeaux produced wines with excellent ripeness and balance, and at Fourcas Dupré this is reflected in a wine that shows both generosity and freshness.
Tasting notes
Château Fourcas Dupré 2020 shows vibrant aromas of dark cherry and blackberry, with a touch of oak adding subtle spice and complexity.
On the palate the wine is medium bodied and structured, with a firm core of fruit and a slightly chewy texture. Sweet red fruits are supported by fine tannins, with notes of mint and cocoa adding a savoury edge on the finish. The balance between freshness and ripeness gives the wine both immediate appeal and ageing potential.
