Château Grand Mayne is a Grand Cru Classé estate located on the limestone slopes of Saint Emilion, where clay and limestone soils produce wines of depth and structure. The vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc, giving the wine both richness and aromatic lift.
The 2020 vintage has produced a powerful yet balanced wine, combining concentration with freshness. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, adding complexity while maintaining the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes
Château Grand Mayne 2020 shows aromas of black cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with notes of spice, cedar and a touch of graphite.
On the palate the wine is structured and polished, with ripe dark fruit supported by fine tannins. There is a sense of both density and tension, leading to a long and refined finish with hints of cocoa and spice.
