Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most recognised estates of Pauillac and has been owned by the Cazes family since the 1930s. The property sits on the Bages plateau, where deep gravel soils provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and help produce wines with the structure and character typical of the appellation.
The vineyard is planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Careful vineyard management and precise winemaking have helped establish Lynch Bages as one of the most consistent producers in the Médoc.
The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux required careful work in the vineyard and a measured approach in the cellar. At Lynch Bages the result is a wine that reflects the strengths of the estate, showing purity of fruit, balance and classic Pauillac character.
Château Lynch Bages 2021 tasting notes
Château Lynch Bages 2021 shows aromas of cassis, blackberry and red plum, with notes of cedar, graphite and subtle spice.
On the palate the wine is structured and refined, with fresh dark fruit supported by firm but well integrated tannins. The balance and precision of the wine give it the ability to develop further complexity in bottle.
Large format
This 300cl double magnum offers excellent ageing potential. Wines from Pauillac are known for evolving gracefully with time, and in large formats the wine matures more slowly, allowing the structure and classic Cabernet Sauvignon character to develop gradually.
