Château Notre Dame is a classic Saint Emilion satellite wine from the appellation of Montagne Saint Emilion, an area renowned for producing Merlot dominated wines with much of the charm and character of neighbouring Saint Emilion at a more accessible level. Presented in original wooden cases of 6 bottles, it is an impressive choice for both drinking and gifting.
Produced predominantly from Merlot grown on clay and limestone soils, the wine reflects the generosity and elegance that have made the Right Bank of Bordeaux so popular. The style is approachable yet structured, offering immediate enjoyment while retaining enough depth to develop further in bottle.
Tasting notes
Château Notre Dame shows an intense crimson colour with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum, supported by subtle oak and toasted notes.
On the palate the wine is smooth and velvety, with ripe dark fruit supported by supple tannins and fresh acidity. There is a lovely balance between richness and freshness, leading to a complex and persistent finish.
The wine pairs particularly well with roast lamb, duck, game terrine, red meats and mature cheeses.
A beautifully presented Montagne Saint Emilion that offers classic Right Bank character, generous Merlot fruit and excellent drinkability. Delivered in original wooden cases of 6 bottles.
