This Aloxe Corton Rouge 2021 comes from a compact 0.25 hectare holding split between two well positioned parcels on the hill of Corton. One lies in Les Combes, immediately below the Charlemagne Grand Cru, with the second in Les Paulands, just beneath the Bressandes Premier Cru. The vines average around thirty years of age and are rooted in iron rich soils that naturally lend depth, structure and generosity to the finished wine.
The nose is expressive and layered, opening with strawberry, raspberry and red cherry, complemented by darker mulberry fruit and a subtle hint of spice. On the palate the wine is ample and assured, with rounded, velvety tannins that coat the mouth yet remain finely balanced by freshness and clarity of fruit. Vinified and matured in oak for approximately fifteen months, the oak is well judged, adding gentle toasted notes without obscuring purity. A refined yet generous Aloxe Corton, offering immediate charm while comfortably ageing from 2026 through to 2036.
