Jean-Jacques Girard Bourgogne Rouge 2023 is an outstanding introduction to one of Savigny-lès-Beaune’s longest established family domaines. The Girard family has been growing vines since 1529, with the estate today producing wines from some of the finest terroirs across the CĂ´te de Beaune, including Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Beaune, Volnay and Pommard.
Although labelled simply as Bourgogne Rouge, the fruit is sourced principally from the domaine’s vineyards around Savigny-lès-Beaune, giving the wine a level of quality and character rarely found at this level. The 2023 vintage offers generous fruit, freshness and excellent balance, making this a superb everyday red Burgundy from a highly respected grower.
