For our drinking wine selection, we offer UK mainland delivery of £15 inc. VAT. For the Highlands and Islands of Scotland (*) we offer £30 inc. VAT per delivery up to 4 cases, and £40 inc. VAT per delivery for 5+ cases.

Le Clarence de Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan 2023 6x75cl
Le Clarence de Haut Brion is Château Haut-Brion's second wine which is nothing short of exceptional every year, but this year in particular, we were all deeply impressed by the quality of the 2023... when we tasted the wines of the Haut Brion stable at La Mission in April. This is a baby Haut Brion, and a wonderful version of the heralded Grand Vin which will be approachable earlier than Haut-Brion herself. Le Clarence represents brilliant value for money. Please also see performance below of the similarly scored 2015 vintage. Very highly recommended.

"The 2023 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is well-defined on the nose with blackberry, cedar and a subtle mint aroma, showing a little more fruit concentration than the La Chapelle. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry and fine backbone. It’s a little granular in texture, sorbet-fresh and pliant, with redcurrant and cranberry fruit. Le Blanc d’Aiguilhe 2021
Le Blanc d’Aiguilhe 2021 is a striking example of modern white Bordeaux, produced by Château d’Aiguilhe from limestone rich vineyards in Castillon. The 2021 vintage was particularly successful... for dry white Bordeaux, producing wines with freshness, precision and remarkable balance.
Made predominantly from Sauvignon Blanc with a small proportion of Sauvignon Gris, the wine combines the texture and generosity associated with fine white Bordeaux alongside a strong mineral backbone. The limestone terroir gives the wine its tension and saline character, while careful winemaking preserves aromatic purity and freshness.
Tasting notes
Le Blanc d’Aiguilhe 2021 shows aromas of citrus, grapefruit and white peach, layered with notes of flint, crushed stone and subtle floral hints.
On the palate the wine is vibrant yet textured, with bright acidity supporting concentrated fruit and a pronounced mineral edge. There is both richness and tension, leading to a long, chalky and saline finish with hints of orange zest and grapefruit bitterness.
