One of the great bargains of the Northern RhĂ´ne at just ÂŁ20 per bottle In Bond. It ages beautifully and offers a generous drinking window from 2026 through to at least 2036.
“A textural, velvety and seductive Syrah, exhibiting dark cherries and dried herbs with roasted meat and peppercorns. It’s medium-bodied, subtle and precise, showing fine tannins and a succulent character. Refined, with a long, lively finish.
94 Points, James Suckling
“Due to the hailstorm in July, there are only a couple hundred cases of the 2023 Crozes-Hermitage Thalabert. It’s not as concentrated as the 2022, but it has a beautiful, medium-bodied style, classic black raspberry and darker berry fruits, some spice, pepper and floral nuances, nicely integrated oak and ripe tannins. I think it will easily be an outstanding wine.
92-94 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
“A classic drinking-now, steak-frites-ready Crozes from this leading Northern RhĂ´ne house, this pure Syrah is a highly drinkable mix of sinewy-supple tannin, dark raspberry and blackberry fruit and black pepper-seasoned black olive savouriness.”
91 Points, David Williams, Decanter
Alongside it, the 2024 Mule Blanche Blanc , Crozes Hermitage is another superb release. Produced from 95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne, it offers remarkable freshness, precision and texture, making it one of the standout white wines of the appellation.
