Clos de Nouys, Vouvray, Sec 2024

Clos de Nouys is the essence of dry Vouvray and this 25 acre estate is found just outside the eponymous sleepy village, where they are the masters of Chenin Blanc. This is as good and affordable as... Chenin Blanc gets. On the palate this is dry, full bodied and with a hint of flinty minerality and fantastic acidity for a clean finish that suits seafood perfectly.

Joseph Mellot, Menetou Salon, Les Thureaux 2024

‘Bright gentle lemon colour with very fresh aromatic sauvignon flavours - I have thought for some time good wine from Menetou gives good Sancerre a run for its money. Great value. I am buying... this!’ Esme Johnstone The vineyard is situated near Bourges, South of Sancerre, on gentle slopes. The soil is composed of clay and limestone overlaying Kimmeridgian marls. All vineyard processes are carried out in an environmentally-friendly manner, adapted for each terroir.

Joseph Mellot, Pouilly-Fume ‘Domaine de Mariniers’ 2023

It is made using 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes and is aged sur lie for a period of six months to enhance its rich flavour. The wine has a pale yellow colour with green highlights and a fresh nose of... lime, grapefruit, and white flowers. On the palate, it offers a vibrant and well-balanced taste of citrus fruits, apricots, and a hint of smokiness. The finish is crisp and long-lasting. This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, particularly shellfish, goat cheese, and salads, making it a delightful addition to any meal.
