Chateau Ausone Premier Grand Cru Classe A, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2000 6x75cl
Château Ausone 2000
Château Ausone 2000 is a truly special vintage from one of Saint-Émilion's most historic and revered estates. The 2000 vintage was exceptional across Bordeaux, and this is... everything you would hope for from Ausone: powerful and concentrated, yet beautifully balanced by the elegance, precision and finesse that make the estate so distinctive.
With more than 25 years of bottle age, Château Ausone 2000 should now be showing beautifully, offering layers of ripe dark fruit, floral complexity and savoury depth, while retaining the structure and freshness to evolve for decades to come. A remarkable wine for collectors of mature Bordeaux and one of the great Right Bank wines of the vintage.
Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate awarded Château Ausone 2000 100 points, describing it as “The greatest Ausone I have ever tasted... phenomenal presence... astonishing richness and purity... should prove to be legendary.”
A legendary Saint-Émilion from an exceptional vintage, and a superb opportunity to experience Château Ausone at a remarkable stage of its evolution.

Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2023 12x75cl
Chateau Berliquet 2003 has just been released to considerable and growing critical acclaim, Purchased by Chanel in 2017 it is part of their now legendary triumvirate along with Chateau Canon &... Rauzan Segla all under superstar winemaker and manager Nicholas Audebert. On the plateau of St Emilion with a blend of 59% Merlot and 41% Cabernet Franc, the wine has fragrant flavours of wild blueberries, plum preserves, and kirsch, followed by a hint of lilac – it is bright and energetic, with intense red and black berry layers and super-silky tannins, finishing with wonderful length and tension in a word delicious. It will age well and is a shrewd investment grade wine (with a release price 21% down on last year) that is sure to follow the upward trajectory of Canon & Ruzan Segla.
"A blend of 59% Merlot and 41% Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Berliquet has a pH of 3.53 and it is ageing in 10% amphorae and 90% oak barriques, of which 34% are new. It has a deep garnet-purple color and it hops from the glass with fragrant notes of wild blueberries, plum preserves, and kirsch, followed by hints of lilacs, fragrant soil, and cardamom. The medium-bodied palate is bright and energetic, with intense red and black berry layers and super-silky tannins, finishing with wonderful length and tension." 94-96 points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW
"A plump and juicy wine with redcurrants and plums, as well as orange peel. Full and layered with round, juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Generous fruit in this vintage." 94-95 points, James Suckling
"The 2023 Berliquet is the first vintage produced in the estate's new winery, equipped with double the number of vats, permitting proper separation of blocks. That's especially important, as Berliquet is a more diverse terroir than Canon, and it can now be interpreted with much more precision. Offering up aromas of cherries, black raspberries, licorice and violets, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and layered, with a fleshy core of concentrated fruit, refined, chalky tannins and lively acids." 93-95 points, William Kelley
"The 2023 Berliquet was picked 23 September to October 5 at 45hL/ha, matured in 34% new oak plus 10 amphorae. Initially, the nose is quite backward and doesn't want to play. Give it a few swirls and it opens to reveal black cherries, blackcurrant and a distant tang of oyster shell emanating from limestone soils. The palate is medium-bodied with a very harmonious entry. Finely weighted, tensile and slightly savory in style, this is very elegant, finishing with citrus-like freshness. Berliquet has definitely been in the ascendant in recent vintages, and this is another to add." 93-95 points, Neal Martin

Chateau de Ferrand Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2022 12x75cl
Château de Ferrand is a superb St Emilion Grand Cru who have made a wonderful, great value 2022 - "Silky, soft, lush, and polished on the palate. Superb " Jeff Leve. Located at the highest point of... Saint-Emilion the " 2022 offers an incredibly pure, balanced, and structured style...the quality is there."Jeb Dunnuck
Owned by the Bich family (of Bic pens fame) since 1978, however it is only relatively recently that the estate began to ramp things up. Since 2010 Pauline Bich Chandon-Moët and her husband Philippe have invested substantially to bring Château de Ferrand firmly into the 21st century, with important and design-led technical changes in the winery, environmental changes with organic practices being implemented in the vineyard (and also many architectural and artistic renovations). The 2022 vintage is the estate's second vintage in its three-year conversion to organic certification; they hope to be fully certified by 2024.
In 2019 new cellars were opened along with renowned consultant Axel Marchal coming on board and following a study of the soils and subsoils, the entire vineyard has been restructured through a rigorous selection of grape varieties according to their ability to adapt to the terroir of each plot and this meticulous attention to detail shows!
Château Ferrand 2022 ” has plenty of personality and balance, takes the imprint of the vintage but gives it a limestone twist, and will age extremely well”Jane Anson

Chateau Quintus, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2023 6x75cl
Quintus 2023 introduces a wine that reflects its heritage and benefits from the acquisition of Grand Pontet, as Domaine Clarence Dillon has added this wonderful terroir to the estate. Grand Pontet... brings limestone-dominated soil, enhancing the quality of this investment-grade wine. This top-range Saint-Émilion wine comes from land that borders the likes of Ausone. Audrey Bernard, who brings her expertise from Opus One, along with new director Mariette Veyssiere, has produced a great wine here.
The 2023 Quintus is a rich, racy Grand Vin. Ample and resonant, the 2023 offers up copious dark-toned fruit, cedar, mint, tobacco, incense and French oak. There's tons of power and breadth but also more freshness than the early vintages, even if the oak is a touch present today. 2028 – 2048 94/96 Points Antonio Galloni
This year, the 2023 Quintus is a well-performing wine, possessing a dense, complex bouquet of smoke, dark wild berries and licorice intertwined with a delicate, oaky frame. Fleshy and ample, medium to full-bodied, it’s perfectly balanced with a delicate, lively core of fruit and a long, ethereal and chalky finish. The influence of the Grand Pontet limestone plateau lends additional straightness and precision to this wine, a blend of 78.3% Merlot and 21.7% Cabernet Franc. 93/95 Points Yohan Castaing
The purity of the fruit here is so impressive, with raspberry, lead pencil, cedar and sandalwood. Medium to full body with very fine and intense tannins that run the length of the wine. Mineral. Tensioned. Beautifully integrated and sophisticated at the end. Lightly salty. 78.3% merlot and 21.7% cabernet franc. 95/96 Points James Suckling
Brambled fruit, richly textured, with juice that runs through the palate bringing you into the heart of St Emilion. Push and pull in texture between grilled smoky oak and slate-scraping pumice stone tannins, this takes its time to open, well judged and skilfully constructed. 43hl/h yield, 42ha in production since addition of Grand Pontet in 2021. Audrey Bernard joined the technical team in March 2021 direct from Opus One, plus new director Mariette Veyssiere. 94 Points Jane Anson
